His style is quite approachable for those with a C1-2 level in German--even with all the complex and compound sentences and gerund phrases. Now if I could just figure out why Phil likes Moby Dick so much--after all, the whale wins.

This book is definitely one of my all time favorites. I am sad to see that there is no English translation for it available. It is a story about a young man, finding his place and realizing what love is in all different forms. It is not sentimental in any way but a book that affected me on so many levels...
